NOEMY – Mixed Media Art, Music and Video

NOEMY was born and raised in Las Cruces, NM to immigrant parents from the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. Proud of her roots, Noemy began singing Mariachi music at a very early age, sang in her high school choir and recorded her first album at 17 years of age during her second year of college at New Mexico State University. Noemy’s classical opera and jazz training was completed at New Mexico State University where she minored in Music with an emphasis on Voice. After graduating from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a minor in music, Noemy moved to the state of Texas where she worked a computer programmer by day and sang by night. After recording her second album and performing at several festivals, she landed a recording contract with the largest Latin recording label at the time, FONOVISA. Her first album “Eternamente” (Eternally) was released in 1998 and was critically acclaimed by the radio industry and press. From this album arose such hits as “Miralas”, “Mentiras”, “Dimelo” and “Besame” the latter two being her own compositions. Noemy was awarded a gold record for the high sales of this album. The first two singles from this album reached the national top 30 of the Latin Billboard charts.

Her second self-titled album “Noemy” garnered such hits as “Asi Fue”, “Amor No Me Ignores”, “El Botas Locas” and “Encadenada” the latter two also being her own compositions. Following these two productions were two more equally successful releases “Armando Sueños y Esperanzas” which included the hit “Aunque Me Duela El Corazon” and “Desnuda” which gained critical acclaim with the cover “Andar Conmigo”. Since then Noemy has performed all over the world (Mexico, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain and the USA) and has recorded a total of 8 albums. Noemy is a Latin-Grammy nominated artist and was awarded the Monterrey “Premios Juventud” award for most promising artist in 1998. Since the beginning of her career Noemy has appeared on TV shows such as “El Show de Johnny Canales”, “De Todo Un Poco”, “Orale Primo”, “Caliente”, “Un Nuevo Dia”, “Buenos Dias”, has acted in several bilingual commercials, and has shared stages with Los Tigres Del Norte, Limite, Intocable, Bronco, Mandingo, Conjunto Primavera, Ana Barbara, Elida Reyna y Avante, Stefani Montiel, Letty Guval, Anna Roman, Stefani Lynn, Polo Urias, Los Mismos, Los Huracanes Del Norte and Michael Salgado.
Noemy’s highly anticipated production “Fronteras” is sure to surprise her fans for she has gone above and beyond what she had previously recorded. This album was produced by Noemy and consists of 6 covers and 6 original songs that are dedicated to all who strive daily to make a better life for themselves and their families. Noemy believes that through music one can make a positive impact on the lives of others by using music as a vehicle for social commentary. Because of this belief Noemy wrote and released “The Line” (Go, Go, Go) on this latest album and hopes to expand her horizon in the American music market with this controversial song.
In the span of her career Noemy has performed songs in the following genres: Opera (6 different languages), Pop, Latin Pop, Mariachi, Flamenco, Tejano, Regional Mexican, Banda, Duranguense and Norteño music. Noemy plays flute, piano, guitar and accordion and hopes to add bass soon. She continues to hone her songwriting skills in preparation for her next release and for placement with other recording artists.
